Cleveland, OH: Garick, LLC, a nationwide distributor and processor of sustainable natural resource products, will manage the City of Topeka's Yard Material Recycling Facility (YMRF), Interstate 70 and NW MacVicar Avenue, effective April 1, 2010.
The site will also be renamed the Biomass and Yard Materials Recycling Facility (BYMRF).
Garick will continue to offer City, residents, other municipalities and commercial businesses within the region yard waste and wood waste recycling and composting services. The BMYRF was approved by the State of Kansas to expand the types of materials processed to include wood waste that can be recycled to beneficial products, such as mulch and biomass wood fuel.
Garick will supply wood waste for the new biomass boiler at Frito-Lay's Topeka facility.
John Gundlach, Garick's Vice President of Sustainable Environmental and Energy Group says, "Garick is excited to be partnering with the City to continue and expand the yard materials and wood waste recycling operation to include a biomass fuel supply. This is an ideal example of private and public partnering together to bring community and businesses closer. This relationship between Garick and the City of Topeka will help utilize existing waste streams to their highest and best uses."
In addition to recycling green waste, yard waste and wood waste, Garick will sell mulch, soil products and compost at the BYMRF.
