HR Manager

We are searching for a focused and detailed individual who is responsible for providing superior service for the Company by working with Key internal customers to reduce cost of operations by establishing and providing relevant/timely cost information and making recommendations.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Develops plans, oversees, and is actively involved in all stages of the recruitment process for medical and administrative staff, including posting, interviewing, offers, background checks, and on-boarding; finalizes hire letters
  • Administers the payroll process and function with remote facilities and corporate office location.

Seasonal Business Development Specialist

We are searching for a focused and energetic individual who can provide impeccable service to Garick customers through timely and friendly communication. This individual will also focus on creating a partnership and constant flow of communication with all organizational members to ensure the principles of the Garick vision. This position is seasonal, and is targeted to serve our customer base from February to July, but is entirely based on the volume of business in the region.

Operations Manager - Topeka, KS

This position is responsible for the daily operations at our yard waste facility in Topeka, KS. This is a full-time position.
The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to this class.

Incumbents of this class are responsible for planning, coordinating and directing all operations activities at assigned wood waste processing and composting facilities, including the facilities and equipment, for wood waste processing, animal waste and other agricultural and industrial derived organic waste and composting operations to ensure compliance with all federal and state environmental requirements. Responsibilities and assignments are broad in scope and require substantial independent judgment on issues which are complex, interpretive and evaluative in nature. The work of this class involves significant accountability and independent decision-making responsibilities.

Performs a wide variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks in the operation of a variety of light, medium and heavy duty motorized general hauling, construction, and maintenance equipment utilized in the operation of the assigned facilities. Performs routing servicing, minor repairs and maintenance of the Facility's equipment. Checks condition of equipment; performs operations and safety check prior to using equipment; maintains tools and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of assigned equipment; fuels vehicles/equipment; inspects and performs safety checks on vehicles/equipment; cleans vehicles/equipment. Trains and instructs personnel in the safe operation of light- and medium-duty motorized equipment.

Responsible for carrying out the safety program for the facility; ensures subordinates follow safety practices in work methods and procedures; enforces proper safety procedures while working in dangerous situations; educates employees on rules, regulations, codes, safe work habits and potential hazards presented by their work environment. Evaluates the performance of assigned staff; establishes performance requirements and personal development targets for assigned staff; with management approval, takes disciplinary action to correct performance deficiencies, in accordance with personnel rules, policies and contract provisions.

Acts in a Supervisory capacity at the Organic Recycling Facility, Composting Facility, Wood Waste Processing Facility or similar Facility, which includes assigning tasks, recruiting and training other staff Collect fees from customers for disposal of yard waste. Responsible for operation of wood grinder, wheel loader and other heavy equipment including maintenance of machinery. Mixing and windrowing of compost or wood chips. Inspect incoming loads to ensure unacceptable materials are not accepted.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for all regulatory compliance and emergency response coordination and implementation on site.
  • Take phone calls and answer questions about the operation of the site.
  • Keep an accurate accounting of loads and revenue throughout the day and fill out daily work record. Tally receipts and cash to make sure that they balance.
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of records, logs and reports.
  • Process products, load wood chips and compost onto customer vehicles using a front-end or high loader.
  • Open the site up for daily operation. and secure the area at appropriate times.
  • Responds to inquiries and complaints from staff and members of the public.
  • Researches new methods, techniques and equipment and recommends their application.

Experience
  • 3-5 (three to five) years minimum related duties and responsibilities in a management capacity
  • 3 (three) years minimum experience in the operation of medium or heavy duty motorized power equipment, use of hand and power tools, light, medium and heavy equipment, particularly wood grinders, front-end loaders, skid steer loaders and dump trucks equipment associated with construction, manufacturing facility maintenance or production, mechanical, electrical or building trades or the equivalent of training and experience.

Organic Waste Driver

This position is to help launch our Organics Waste Collection Program in the Cleveland market. Our program includes totter-pick up of organic wastes from restaurants, universities, schools, food processing companies and hospitals. This is a full-time, Seasonal position. Responsibilities Include:
